REVIEW: Stolen Flame by D.W. Marshall

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

After I finished reading Stolen Flame, I took the night to contemplate my review. This is not your typical formula, cookie cutter novel and it shouldn’t be expected to be. What it is is erotica at its best with a sensitive subject. This author was able to take a story, which had dark undertones (not uncomfortable dark at all), and turn it into an erotic forbidden fantasy that is rarely touched upon. Is it over the top and slightly unbelievable? Yes. Is it supposed to be that way? Yes!!! The writing was awesome, and the sex scenes were hot! If you are a true fan of erotica, then there is not way you wouldn’t love this story.

Review: Sebring (The Unfinished Heroes Series 5) by Kristen Ashley

Sebring, the final novel in the Unfinished Heroes Series, is by far my absolute favorite! We read about Nick’s fall into douchebagness in Knight, and I’ve craved for his story to be told ever since. Having his history highlighted in Knight and sporadically mingled into Creed, Raid and Deacon made me feel connected to him in a more intense way than any of the other characters in this series. I wanted Nick to get his shit together, I believed that he could find his HEA and I needed him to become the man I hoped he could be.

And who is the perfect heroine for Nick to fall for? A gangster princess named Olivia! The way he and Olivia meet is mouthwatering in a - make sure you’re reading this in the privacy of your own home - kinda HOT! And when Olivia calls him Nicky?? And he lets her?? Swoon! Pass the tequila while I attempt to get myself together.

Nick's back story/past is brutal, but it's almost as if he's earned himself that brutal with his past behavior over the years.

KA hit it on the bulls-eyes, but lets be real, when does she not?

I seriously LOVED this book! Lev was the perfect imperfect alpha male.  The fact that Belle could write a character that was so vastly different than anything I've ever read, yet make him so damn lovable is amazing. I'm now also completely invested in the secondary characters too.  I can't wait for Nas and Vic's story, which I hope she's writing next!  This was a well paced, beautifully written, fantastic read!

Contract signed with The Wild Rose Press!!

Yes, you read that right.  This girl just signed her first publishing contract with The Wild Rose Press! 

WEB OF DECEIT, my debut novel, is a story I've had in my head for years.  Last year I decided that I was finally going to put these characters, who were haunting my brain, down on paper.  This was something I've always wanted to do but the timing was never right.   Halfway into book one, I realized that my secondary characters were demanding to have their stories told too, so books two, three and four were born.

I decided against submitting to agents, and went straight into researching publishers.  Why? It was just my personal preference.

This. took. days.

Literally.

I read everything I could find on each publisher I was interested in.  I exhausted my google search trying to sniff out the good and the ugly.  People loved talking about the ugly, but I found one publisher were all the authors raved about their publishing experiences, The Wild Rose Press.  Their website was phenomenal and their Crimson Rose line was perfect for my romantic suspense.  I knew this was the publisher for me, now I just had to convince them of this too.

Thus began my tireless query letter writing. 

This. again. took. days.

I was officially back in High School, writing my college essay, trying to convince the University of Tampa that they just needed to accept me.  I wrote 10 different query letters before I was even somewhat satisfied.  Then came the dreaded synopsis.  Even thinking about it now makes my palms sweat.  Writing a one page, full story synopsis was my kryptonite.  It was physically painful trying to convey my characters and plot onto one page, a real battle for me.  Once I was convinced I'd won, I was ready to submit.

My submission turned into a full manuscript request, and by some miracle, that turned into a publishing contract! 

I truly could not be more excited to start this journey with such a wonderful publisher.
